NEW - Medieval Winter Fireside Treat

On The Wiltshire and Dorset Borders

Pictured above: Author Kathy Lette and comedian Ronni Ancona enjoy their Foot Trail

Foot Trails popular Winter Fireside Treat walking weekends are the perfect way to lift your mood and put a rosy glow on your cheeks during winter.

New for 2007 is this Medieval version of this weekend. Best selling author Kathy Lette brought her friend Ronni Ancona to trial this walk for us earlier this year.

Winter is such an exciting time for this trip. It brings a rare peace and stillness to the landscapes on our Wiltshire and Dorset Borders. The air becomes filled with the aroma of woodsmoke and the countryside looks breath-taking with its frost nipped ground and ghostly tree silhouettes.

Ruby coloured holly berries and twinkling white, village lights add a festive touch of colour.

Each day you will set off on foot after a leisurely breakfast and enjoy a spectacular walk with our award-winning guide David Howell. There will be plenty to explore including a medieval castle (pictured above), beautiful medieval villages and you can warm up with a nip of mulled wine and a mince pie on route.

Return in the afternoon for a soak in the bath or warming shower, then spend the evening enjoying great conversation in front of the inn's enormous log fire. Dare I say, perfect!

Winter Fireside Treat is a special 2 night weekend walking break, starting on Friday evening and led by multi award winning guide, David Howell. The walking is at an enjoyable pace. Saturday we walk 7.5 miles (12km), Sunday 5.5 miles (9 km).

You will be staying in a small hamlet near Tisbury, Wiltshire, where the nearest train station is located.

December 7th only, 8 places available.

Book early to avoid disappointment.
