The end of winter, a beautiful time, when the land begins to wake up from its long sleep, and regeneration of the landscape begins. We start to get our first glimpses of life in the countryside, and this award-winning holiday experience celebrates and marks this magical time.

Many flowers and plants put in an early appearance, including the Snowdrop..... to the untrained eye they look alike, but there are over 100 species, and when seen together in their hundreds and thousands, the carpet effect of white and dark green catches ones breath.

Beautiful Snowdrops will feature, but this is a country weekend of walking, exploring and dining on local food, and it is based in the hidden depths of the Cotswolds, mid-way between regency Cheltenham and roman Cirencester. Those of you who know Foot Trails well, will know that we don't ever follow the crowds.... our routes and inns are off the beaten track, giving our holidays a delightful peaceful and relaxing quality. If this is your first holiday with us, you are in for a treat......

Relax and unwind at our fabulous 17th century Cotswolds stone inn, where country style accommodation blends with roaring log fires, warm welcomes and fabulous local food including trout from the nearby River Churn.

Two days of inspiring walking in the area is led by David Howell, Foot Trails co-founder. David grew up in the Cotswolds, and knows this area inside out. His walks and expertise will let you see the secret side of the Cotswolds. Peaceful valleys, unspoilt and unknown mix with cosy country pubs, log fires, fabulous countryside and gorgeous villages. They are the places that most miss, many don't even know exist.

The wonderful country inn on this holiday makes this experience unique. We are the only travel company in England that specialises in offering authentic rural experiences with creature comforts, based in genuine country inns. As well as fabulous country style bedrooms, you'll find wonderful bathrooms with modern creature comforts, outstanding local food, wooden beams, fireplaces and a fabulous atmosphere. If you enjoy high standards, character and quality, this is definitely the walking experience for you....

During the weekend you will discover and explore a rich variety of Cotswold secrets. They include an abandoned medieval village, little known rustic hamlets, well and truly off the tourist tracks these are community places where stone cottages with slate tiled roofs occupy enviable positions with views over the valley.

Our woodland walk will be a particular delight – the avenue of Beech trees is beautiful, even in winter, they seem to march across the hillside and have an old iron-age settlement located behind. In the middle of the wood the cottage we come across could easily belong to Hansel and Grettel, and the pretty garden is awash with Snowdrops at this time of year. You will enjoy this, and hear tales and stories as you walk from David, before wandering back along the river, now at dusk, to settle down in front of the fire for your supper.....

Come and join us to mark the ending of winter, and to celebrate the snowdrops..... but do hurry, places are strictly limited to 12 people.
