Included in your weekend
Your 2 night guided walking weekend begins conveniently Friday evening at 7.30 pm with a complimentary glass of wine. (Arrive earlier if you wish, a complimentary 2 mile walk is available for the afternoon). Welcomed by Foot Trails founder Alison Howell, a relaxing evening to start to your weekend will be a chance to meet your fellow guests and hear about your weekends walks.
On Saturday after a great breakfast, David your guide will meet you for an enjoyable paced 8 mile walk – The Woodland Paradise. Today you´ll get close to nature, really close to nature. Beginning on the very edge of the Cotswolds escarpment, you can enjoy far reaching and striking views over the Severn valley.
This is a magical place. The beech woodland is internationally recognised. Wander through glades and over forest tracks, listening to the melodic bird song around you, or enjoying the glimpses of stunning views through the colourful trees. The odd leaf flutters and falls. Lunch at a classic old country inn.
On Sunday, today´s walk is weaved with a mystery. Dick Whittington, a pantomime legend, but was this a real figure? On into your walk the babbling brooks gurgle and rush over stones. On the side of the hill before a hamlet, remains of ancient long barrows stand, telling us that people have lived in the valley for the last 5000 years. Your route is dotted with charming Cotswolds cottages, with their stone walls and slate roofs they make a pretty sight. We return to the inn to refresh.
