This is a moderate walk as there are several steep climbs, well worth it for the spectacular views.
This walk can be either 7 miles or 9 to 10 miles.
This is a scenic and peaceful walk off the well trodden trail, exploring the Cranborne Chase and Thomas Hardy country in north Dorset. A car is required for this trail.
Follow in the footsteps of literary figure Thomas Hardy, discovering many of the places and landscapes which inspired his books. Shaston (Shaftesbury) is visible on the hill, and the curving chalk downs are filled with wild flowers and rare Orchids in summer. Gorgeous all year round.
