Award-winning Foot Trails give you peaceful time out. The atmosphere of our guided holidays is more akin to a great dinner party with friends, thanks to our friendly sized groups of no more than 10 guests and excellent personal service. It's a world away from large companies and mass tourism!

Couples, solo travellers and friends all enjoy these indulgent weekend treats where you can leave the modern world far behind and enjoy life's simple pleasures. Linger over leisurely breakfasts, spot deer in the woods, enjoy a pint at the bar with the locals, admire a star filled sky where there's no light pollution or just soak up the natural elements as you walk through beautiful countryside with your guide.

Our holidays aren't about route marching or how quickly we can get from a to b. Your walking will be enjoyably paced. On route hidden castles, ancient towers, lakes, panoramas and unspoilt villages puncutate your trail. These special places you will discover for yourselves, and will be bought to life with the light tales and ancient legends subtely weaved into your walk by our talented guide, David Howell.

When you want to admire the view, you'll pause on route with a hot mug of tea (or coffee) to admire it! And there are fabulous lunches to look forward too at our hand-picked country pubs.

Personal selection by co-founder Alison Howell, coupled with regular visits where high standards are required, ensures a consistency in our accommodation that you can rely on. We want you to be happy with where you stay each and every time, and have the peace of mind of knowing what standards to expect when you come.

Chosen for their creature comforts and generosity of welcome, spacious bedrooms and exceptional food, all enjoy picturesque village locations. Country inns and country house hotels are small, independent or privately owned. They are chosen to reflect the beauty of your local area, each has its own charm and character, and a careful blend of centuries of history with modern comforts. Alison spends the night at each inn or country hotel and also eats in the restaurant.

You'll find high quality local food where possible, local stone, bags of original features and a pride in it's county.

Our accommodation is award-winning too, with many proudly holiding accolades that range rom AA rosette to country pub of the year. After a day in the country, reward a healthy fresh air induced appetite with one of the local tipples in the bar, and a fabulous array of passionately prepared food, either in the restaurant, bar or alfresco.
