Putting a face to a name..Alison Howell, founded Foot Trails. Alison is a farmer's daughter who grew up in firstly Wiltshire then Buckinghamshire and has lived in the south west for 20 years. Alison loves travel and photography and is inspired by nature and the rural countryside. She enjoys helping guests discover places they may never have found by themselves. "Running a rural travel company is a joy and a privillage. What do I love most? Reading cards and emails from guests who have had the time of their lives on one of our trips. It's wonderful to create memories for people that will stay with them for years to come David Howell, Co-founder, grew up in the Cotswolds, began walking at one and just never stopped! His passion for walking, photography and the countryside is only surpassed by that for real ales. David researches and compiles all of Foot Trails routes and is a complete perfectionist in this respect. He also guides our small group trips, when he is known to entertain guests with the odd light tale, story or poem. Putting together a new route is a joy. I love discovering new places, the whole sense of exploration, and being able to pass this on to our guests is very rewarding."
