Away Days
Walking experiences in rural England

"Hi all, A GREAT adventure and fun was had by all, Thanks Foot Trails!!!"
Jane, Mars UK

"Hi Alison & David, Just wanted to say thank you again for such a great time. I know all the girls enjoyed it and we have been getting a lot of thank you notes waxing lyrical about the hotel, walking, scenery etc. I think a number of them will bear Foot Trails in mind for future weekends away! Thanks again for all your help and organisation skills." Carolyn, Aspen Insurance

Away days, fresh air

An away day is a short period of time to find in the work schedule and week, yet long enough to completely refresh your team, thank your team, bring together your clients or a different way to hold your company meeting.

The natural environment where we work, has a wonderful effect of relaxing, grounding and opening up conversation in a way that is not competitive or force and everyone can enjoy. A day such as this is cost-effective, unique, shows that you and you company care as we believe in working in a sustainable way that benefits rural communities and leaves everyone who participates with wonderful memories.

Foot Trails are the only travel company in the world to specialise solely in English country inns and small country hotels, set in beautiful villages yet accessible by train. We host all our away days in one of these English Country inns.

Our country inns and hotels provide creature comforts and a relaxing environment which is completely different to the office. We can tailor the day to suit you, arranging a meeting or break away room, lunch with local produce and a refreshing half day or few hours guided or independent walk.

Locations and ideas include;

Ancient Wiltshire Landscapes in South Wiltshire
Nearest station is at Warminster in Wiltshire or Frome in Somerset

The Knights Tale in South Somerset
Nearest station is at Sherborne in Dorset

Secret Cotswolds in Gloucestershire

Foot Trails are unique walking experiences that combine authentic English country inns and small country hotels with varied and historic walking trails in South West England.

A day might look like this;

11.15am, Enjoy a few hours guided walk through the country, out in the landscape, relaxing and letting the conversation open up.

1.15pm, Pause for a lunch of local produce at a country inn or cafe along the way.

2.00pm, back into the countryside, maybe to an idyllic spot where we can pause and reflect.

4.00pm, Afternoon tea, review of the day.

5.00pm, Return to the station.
